Emerging infectious diseases (EIDs) and Re-emerging diseases are new and old diseases that appear to attack a population. Covid-19 shows how a disease becomes a disaster for all human life and we see how health facilities and the government are unable to quickly overcome the effects caused by Covid-19. The problem in this study is how the community empowerment model in preparedness for diseases due to Re-IEDs in Tasikmalaya City is based on community needs. The community-based community empowerment model has long been used to overcome public health problems. This study aims to explore information about the community empowerment model in preparedness for diseases due to Re-/EIDs in the Tasikmalaya City area of West Java. This research method is a qualitative study using an exploratory case study design. The qualitative case study approach to explore the community empowerment model in community-based Re-/EIDs disease preparedness that can be implemented in the community. The sample was taken using a purposive sampling strategy, with a convenience sampling type so that a general pattern was found. Data collection by means of focused discussions (FGD) with 6 community representatives, 6 cadres in the RW 10 (RW Siaga) area of Sukamaju Kaler Village, Indihiang District, Tasikmalaya City. Interviews with 2 people from the P2M field of the Health Office and the Head of the Village and the Secretary of the Head of Sukamaju Kaler Village. Qualitative data analysis was assisted by the NVivo14 application. The results of the data analysis obtained 1 theme, 8 categories, and 25 codes. The conclusion of this study was that 15 community empowerment efforts were obtained that could be carried out based on community needs so that it is expected to increase community preparedness in dealing with Re-/IEDs diseases in the present and the future.
